July 6, 13, 20, 27-FRIDAY OPEN STUDIO

This “no host” studio is for artists of all mediums. Spend the afternoon in our brightly lit classroom with the benefit of good company and a pleasant place to work. Make a cup of coffee or tea and enjoy our extensive Lending Library and the Enid Joy Mount Gallery for inspiration. Open 1:00-4:00pm every Friday. Free to members. $3/day or $10/ month for non- members. No registration required.

 

June 26, July 3, 10, 17, 24, 31-NW Wildlife

This a series of SIX ACRYLIC PAINTINGS geared for beginners of all ages* taught by BRIGITTE MILLER. Brigitte is a certified fine art instructor with Brigitte is a certified fine art instructor with Grumbacker paint company. For this series, you’ll need.**

  • (6)-9” x 12” wrap-around, stretched canvas or canvas board
  • one set of small acrylic brushes including a filbert, round, 1/2” flat and liner (optional) or purchase each separately.
  • Acrylic Paint Set with at least red, blue, yellow, black and white or individual tubes.
  • palette knife (optional, but very handy for mixing paint)
  • 12 paper plates or one plastic acrylic palette (I often use recycled plastic plates.)
  • paper towels or dinner napkins
  • #2 pencil -spray bottle (The Dollar Store has these.)

Drop in any time for $20 each 2-hour session, pre-register for $15 per class !or join ! the Makersʼ Club: buy a 5-class punchcard and get one class free! Thatʼs only $12.50 per class. Tuesday Evenings 6:30-8:30.* Register here.

*Children under 12 must be with an adult. **Kits are available for $50 (upon request) and include all the materials for the entire series.

ACRYLIC, WATERCOLOR & COLLAGE CLASSES Classes offered by Stacie Clark

Stacie Clark is a local artist and has been teaching printmaking, watercolor and acrylic painting for the past 18 years. All classes are a relaxed setting for all experience levels to take a few hours out of their day to explore creativity.

For the beginner: These classes are designed to allow a new student to experience materials without the fear of having to invest heavily into products. Each class is an opportunity to gain guidance on the variety of paints, brushes, surfaces to work and the experience of actually using them. You will leave each class with your own wonderful art.

For the more experienced: Bring your materials in and participate in learning new techniques or sharpen your skills and learn about other materials. You will leave each class with your own wonderful artwork.

Monday, July 2, 1 pm to 4 pm Beginning Acrylic Painting

How to begin painting in acrylic? Take this class. Materials and a variety of techniques will be reviewed through demonstration and hands on experience.

Monday, July 9, 1 pm to 4 pm Beginning Acrylic Palette Knife Painting 

A variety of techniques found in Palette Knife painting that can be applied to landscape or abstract paintings or just fun! An overview of materials will be covered and then you can start painting.

Monday, July 16, 1 pm to 4 pm Beginning Acrylic Landscape Painting

Trees, hills, skies, water and mountains-this class will cover materials andtechniques create these beautiful landscapes through demonstration and hands on experience.

Wednesday, July 11, 10 am to 1 pm Beginning Watercolor Painting

Have always been curious about watercolor painting but didn’t know where to start? Here is the place to start. An overview of materials and techniques will be covered and then you canstart painting. You will leave with your own painting.

Wednesday, July 18, 10 am to 1 pm Beginning Watercolor Painting Landscapes

Hills, trees, mountains, lakes and oceans -this class will cover a variety of techniques on how to create landscapes in watercolor. Materials will be discussed and then you can start painting.

Wednesday, July 25, 10 am to 1 pm Watercolor Painting White Trees

Create an original (much easier than it looks) tree-scape watercolor painting using wet into wet techniques and masking fluid. A discussion of materials will be covered and then we will start painting. You will leave with your own landscape painting.

Thursday, July 12, 10 am to 1 pm Beginning Paper Collage (on a flat surface)

This class will review the variety of materials in building your own collage. You have the option of using a design provided or a free exploration of items provided.

Monday, July 30, 1 pm to 4 pm Beginning Paper Collage (decoupage) Boxes 

In this class we will learn about the basic materials and techniques of collage. Then we will collage several paper boxes with by choosing your own design or one provided.

All materials provided. Cost: $25 Materials fee: $10 paid directly to instructor on class day. Register here.
