March 1, 8, 15, 22-WATERCOLOR with PEN and INK taught by award winning artist ANGELA WRAHTZ

The March theme is Wildlife and Birds. The techniques will be: Creating Lifelike Textures. No experience is needed to be a part of this project-based class with projects provided, or you can bring your own. There are lots of demonstrations of techniques, resources and step-by-step instruction. Students love this fun social class, so be prepared to laugh, learn and create! Angie will bring everything you need to complete projects including professional grade paper and paint for use in class. Please bring your own brushes. March 2, 9, 16, 23, 30-FRIDAY OPEN STUDIO

This “no host” studio is for artists of all mediums. Spend the afternoon in our brightly lit classroom with the benefit of good company and a pleasant place to work. Make a cup of coffee or tea and enjoy our extensive Lending Library and the Enid Joy Mount Gallery for inspiration. Open 1:00-4:00pm every Friday. Free to members. $3/day or $10/month for non- members. No registration required.

March 3

You are invited to the monthly artist reception to see the art and visit with the artists who entered the “ANNUAL COLOR SHOW – “RED”  This show celebrates the 40th anniversary of the KEIZER ART ASSOCIATION and all art will show the beautiful red color of the Ruby gem. The afternoon reception is from 2:00-4:00 with awards given to the artists, refreshments for everyone and a chance to shop in Gallery K. Meet and greet the folks who believe in  Keizer Art Association.

March 7, 14, 21, 28-WATERCOLOR WEDNESDAYS taught by STEVE KLEIER

In March Steve will place emphasis on FLOWERS. The study of flowers offers something for every level of artist. For the beginner there is the opportunity to explore the fundamentals of color mixing and brushwork without a lot of complicated drawing. The intermediate or advanced student will gain more understanding of how to depict the many subtleties of flowers in art. These lessons are a great way to establish some good habits. Steve creates a relaxed and interesting atmosphere and has a great knowledge of art history and techniques. Steve has been a commercial and fine artist for more than 30 years and his art expertise is unending. Please bring a notebook and pencil for note taking, watercolor supplies with your favorite colors and brushes. Remember as kids how much fun it was to paint with your hands? Well, now you can experience the grown up version. In case you were wondering, we will be painting with our gloved hands and a credit card. You will learn how to use your fingers like brushes and will have a ready to frame painting at the end of class. All you need is an old shirt to wear, some paper towels and a willingness to have fun! All supplies furnished: paint, canvas, palette, gloves and water containers. There is no drawing or painting experience necessary. Tuesday, 10:00-12:30, $35.00.* Register here.

March 24-STAR BOOKS taught by JUDY HICKMAN

In this fun class Judy will show you how to make a STAR BOOK that holds photos, notes etc. Opens flat to sit on a table and also opens into a star. You can hang the star by its own ribbon and it will turn gently in a breeze. Makes a great gift, if you can bear to part with it.

Supplies provided: black card stock, chip board for cover, adhesives and 3 pieces decorated card stock (or you can bring your own). If you have a paper cutter, score board, or a bone folder please bring them to share. Saturday, 9:00-12:30. $15 for the class. $5 for supplies paid to the instructor.* Register here.


*Please sign up at least one week ahead for these classes so the instructors can prepare for the correct number of students. Ages 14 and above can register for adult classes.                    

** Refunds will be given to students if a class is cancelled. If a student registers and pays for a class and cannot attend we will gladly forward your payment to a future class.
