September 1, 8, 15, 22, 29-FRIDAY OPEN STUDIO

This “no host” studio is for artists of all mediums. Spend the afternoon in our brightly lit classroom with the benefit of good company and a pleasant place to work. Make a cup of coffee or tea and enjoy our extensive Lending Library and the Enid Joy Mount Gallery for inspiration. Open 1:00-4:00pm every Friday. Free to members. $3/day or $10/month for non-members. No registration required.

You are invited to the monthly artist reception to see the art and visit with the artists who entered the Annual “WOW” SHOW (WILD OVER WATERCOLOR) Show.  Art will be accepted only from members of the ”WOW” art association.  Wild Over Watercolor (previously known as Women of Watercolor), is an art association which was founded in 2009.  The membership consists of approximately 30 artists from emerging to award winning and nationally recognized for their work.  This show promises to be extraordinary.The afternoon reception is from 2:00-4:00 with awards given to the artists, refreshments for everyone and a chance to shop in Gallery K. Meet and greet the folks who believe in Keizer Art Association.

September 13, 20, 27-DRAWING and PAINTING CLASS combined taught by STEVE KLEIER

Some people want to draw for its own sake, others to improve their painting. This class is good for both because you will learn principles of drawing that can be used on their own or applied to painting. Steve sends out an email with reference photos before each class. Supply List: Sketchbook, drawing pencils, (about a 6b), kneaded eraser, medium hardness charcoal, a good size newsprint pad, drawing board and clips. All media (Oils, Watercolor, Acrylic) welcome. Please bring the supplies you have and the colors you enjoy using but include canvas or paper, a palette or tray, sketchbook and medium soft pencil or graphite stick, brushes, spray bottle. September 14, 28-WATERCOLOR with PEN and INK taught by award winning artist ANGELA WRAHTZ

All levels welcome. No experience needed. Beginning to advanced techniques are taught. Classes are project-based with projects provided or bring your own. Lots of demonstrations of techniques, resources, and step-by-step instruction. Instructor will bring everything you need to complete projects including professional grade paper and paint for use in class. Please bring your own brushes. September 26-FINGER PAINTING CLASS with Acrylic Artist LINDA OSBURN

This absolutely fun class is taught by a new artist at KAA. You will paint a beautiful vase of roses called, “Baker’s Dozen”. Here’s what Linda has to say: “Remember as kids how much fun it was to paint with your hands….well, now you can experience the grown up version. In case you were wondering, we will be painting with our gloved hands and a credit card. You will learn how to use your fingers like brushes and will have a ready to frame paint at the end of the class. All you need is an old shirt, some paper towels and a willingness to have fun! There is no drawing or painting experience necessary.” Linda will provide all your supplies for the class: acrylic paint, canvas, palette, gloves and water containers. *Please sign up at least one week ahead for classes so the instructor can prepare for the correct number of students. Ages 14 and above can register for adult classes.

** Refunds will be given to students if a class is cancelled. If a student registers and pays for a class and cannot attend we will gladly forward your payment to a future class.
