The Keizer Community Mural is a Public Art Project. Public Art in Keizer is through a partnership of three entities:
- Keizer Public Arts Commission (KPAC) who has oversight of public art policy, liability and selection and location of art.
- Keizer Art Association (KAA) providing local artists and monthly art shows.
- Keizer Chamber Foundation who provides funding for the sculpture on River Road
The Mural was funded through a $2,500 grant received by KAA from the Oregon Community Foundation; $3,000 from the sale of 15 portraits of Keizer residents; $500.00 Paint donated from Keizer Sherwin Williams; an easement donated to the City of Keizer (KPAC) by Town and Country Bowl and hundreds of hours donated by KAA artists and community members.
Over 150 Keizer children added their hand and footprints to the mural as leaves for the iris border and butterflies.
The mural dedication is scheduled for September 10, 2016 at 11 am at the mural, everyone is invited. A group picture of all mural participants will be taken for volunteers.
