Description
This workshop is composed of four 3-hour sessions occurring on Tuesday afternoons. The classroom will be open beyond scheduled class time for continued instruction at your convenience. This class is tailored to those students who have some previous experience in oil painting; however, students new to oils can be accommodated.
We will be painting a city landscape scene on an 11×14 canvas. As we approach the rainy season in western Oregon, this painting will seem very appropriate. The painting depicts a community street under a moonlit sky where the street is showing proof of a recent rain shower. Residents are getting out while they can before the next shower.
Students will gain experience accessing values and painting with unsaturated colors in a low light setting. We will continue to paint with a minimum use of solvents emphasizing a healthy painting environment.
Materials List
Students must bring:
- Paper towels
- An apron (if desired)
- You are encouraged to bring your own tabletop easel and supplies if you have them.
Instructor will provide:
- Basic equipment and materials are provided with the exception of paper towels and an apron (if desired).
