The use of color has attracted me since childhood when it came to crayons or paint chips from the hardware store. Since then, my interest in expressing art on paper has led me to a palette of paints and a collection of well-used watercolor brushes. When I look around my world, I see beauty in everyday life. In my art, I try to show these images through the use of rich colors, repeated patterns, and creative themes. My subject matter ranges from lollipops to flowers, boats, animals, landscapes, pasta, and everyday life images.
Born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area, I relocated to Tualatin, Oregon in 1994. While living in the Bay Area, I worked at a large chip-maker company as a proofreader and had my own graphic design company. By moving to the Portland area, I eventually wanted to explore the watercolor media and enrolled in a local artist’s classes where I began my love for watercolor. I have put the skills learned over the years as a graphic artist and photographer to work, applying technique and balance to my watercolor art. More recently I have taken instructional classes offered by local professional artists and have renewed my passion for expressive painting.
am currently an active member of the Watercolor Society of Oregon (WSO), Wild Over Watercolor (WOW), and Keizer Art Association (KAA).
After viewing my collection, I hope you will find the same happiness these images have brought to me.
