A native Oregonian, my family and I moved from Portland to Keizer in 1977 after getting a graphic designer position with the State of Oregon. During that time I also freelanced illustrations and made political cartoons for the Oregonian, Statesman Journal, and Keizer Times (under John Ettinger).
After retirement in 2003 I illustrated and designed t-shirts and other textile art for Textile Graphics Inc in McMinnville for clients like Harley-Davidson, Nike, and microbreweries across the country. I’m a member of the National Cartoonists Society, and currently still do freelance art while publishing two cartoon panels, Gray Area (about senior citizens coping in today’s society) and In-Country (about a tour of duty in Vietnam), which are both on Facebook.
The commercial jobs have been the bulk of my recent activity, but I hope to get back into producing more paintings now.
